Demystifying Hypnosis

Demystifying Hypnosis

Let's demystify hypnosis.

I've had several conversations recently with really great questions that don't occur to me anymore because I'm so comfortable with hypnosis and hypnotherapy as a hypnotist.

You are always in control.

When you're in hypnosis, if you want to wake yourself up, you just open your eyes and you can literally just pull yourself right out. It is not mind control, you are not helpless. When you are in hypnosis, you are fully in control. You can open your eyes and pull yourself out. You can keep yourself from going deeper. By not wanting to go deeper, you can keep yourself out like a place that feels very safe for you.

Only weak-minded people can be hypnotized.

False. That is a falsified statement. Anyone who is willing to be hypnotized, who has a functioning physiological brain can be hypnotized. It's just a willingness. It is a deep state of focus. You're focused on the sound of my voice and relaxation. It's a guided meditation, but it is super purposeful and I'm taking you into a deeper state of hypnosis. It feels like you're lying on your bed and you are about to fall asleep. It's that moment. It's like you are so relaxed, and all the thoughts in your mind have gone away. Maybe you're holding on to one last little thought. And that's the place where I take you. It feels amazing. It's amazing.

Hypnosis is sleep.

No, it is not sleep.

Hypnosis makes people do weird things.

Yeah, it sure can. If you want to do that. If you're the kind of person who's like, “hey, I want to be hypnotized to fall down or walk like a duck or cluck like a chicken.” You can do that if you want to.

It's New Age or anti-religion.

It's none of those things. It's literally just relaxation. It's a form of relaxing so that you can do work in your subconscious. The only way you can access the subconscious and do work within it is using hypnosis. That's just the vehicle. It's just a relaxing, beautiful, comfortable vehicle that we use to access the subconscious.

I hope that this has helped break down some walls that you may have around hypnosis and hypnotherapy because it really isn't something to be afraid of. And if you are afraid of it, buy one of my audios and try it to see if you like it. I hope that demystified some things around hypnosis for you.

It's really lovely and crazy powerful.
