Hurry Up and Heal Isn’t How It works

The emotional healing process takes time.

Hurry up and heal isn’t how it works.

I’m preaching to myself here because this is the lesson I’m learning right now.

Emotional Healing Takes Time

Real, emotional healing cannot be rushed.

The emotional healing process can’t be something to check off a to-do list.  Emotional healing is a journey and one we learn so much through.

Being in a space where we need to heal means we got there in the first place.

Making your way back to wellness and wholeness might take a hot minute.

Think about how long it took you to get so far out of alignment that you needed a wake-up call to alert you to what’s actually happening.

You were ignoring things that were trying to show you that something needed your attention.

Was it your anxiety you ignored? Your depression? Your exhaustion? Your aches? Your pains?

Were you given a diagnosis?

How many things did you use to distract yourself from what needed your attention? How many crutches did you gather up to keep you just moving forward because you weren’t allowing yourself to be aware there might be a problem?

We put our blinders on and just keep going and often end up where we can’t even see where we got off track because it’s so far behind us.

And then we need to heal ourselves home.

Being Intentional With Our Emotional Healing

When healing is done deeply and intentionally we slow way down and recognize the things that were in place that led to where we found ourselves needing to make changes.

We uncover habits and behaviors (and beliefs, expectations, missing boundaries, etc.) that were integrated and acted upon that landed us out of wellness.

When we make conscious and deliberate changes we support not only our emotional healing but our lives once healed.

This emotional healing process gives us insight and wisdom that we can’t gain any other way. Sometimes we have to experience things in order to change them in a lasting way and when we do - it tends to stick and we become wiser.

We learn how to create lives that are harmonious and in alignment with our well-being.

“Life” isn’t on the other side of our healing - it’s our healing that allows us to live our beautiful, vibrant lives.

There is no hurry up and heal, there’s purpose in the pace.

So if you're healing - go slowly, with intention, and tether yourself into a life that feels abundant.

I'm doing the same.
